POONCH, Dec 8: Fazil won the Sub Junior Title in the ongoing 23rd District table tennis Championship which is being organized by District Table Tennis Association Poonch under the aegis of J&K State Table Tennis Association. Fazil outclassed Anuj by 11-9, 6-11 and 11-8. Earlier in first semifinal of Junior category Gagan surpassed Rachit by 11-9, 11-9 while Gurjot defeated Fazil 11-6, 11-8. In Junior finals Gurjot had to face tough moments before overpowering Gagan by 11-7, 8-11, 11-9. Paropkar outclassed Nadeem 11-9, 11-5, Nishant drubbed Kuljeet Thakur 11-6, 11-5, Jagjit Singh prevailed over Prof J S Vir, Rachit got better of Gaganpreet (Sr) while Salil Raian got walkover. Bhanu got better of Piyush 11-9, 11-8. In first quarter final in Mens category Gagan outclassed Marshall by 11-1, 11-9. In second quarter final Sandeep Luthra prevailed over Paropkar, In 3rd quarter final Gurjot outplayed Narinder Singh (PEM) while in 45th quater final Salil Raina outplayed Rakshit 11-5, 11-6, 11-4. In veterans category Narinder Singh trounced Vivek Matto 11-8, 11-7, Rajinder Singh (PEM) drubbed Ravinder Singh 11-8,11-7. Prof JS Vir outplayed Ravinder Singh (PET) 11-3, 11-7. Er Saleem Bandey got walkover.
