KARGIL, Nov 14: The inaugural Fateh Cup Kargil 2025, organized to honour the martyrs of 1948 and 1999, concluded today at Austro Turf Kargil with remarkable energy and participation. Eight football clubs competed throughout the tournament, showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and teamwork.
In a thrilling final, RLC Baroo defeated Sheen Football Club Saliskot with a commanding 6-1 scoreline, clinching the first-ever Fateh Cup title. The closing ceremony was graced by Tahir Hussain Zabdavi, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Ladakh, as chief guest. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting youth engagement in sports and providing platforms for talent at district, UT, and national levels.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, in collaboration with the Football Association Kargil and the Indian Army, as part of the preparations for the upcoming Kargil Yom-e-Fateh commemorations. Zabdavi extended gratitude to the organizing teams and announced plans to expand the tournament into an annual mega event. He also shared upcoming Santosh Trophy selection trials to encourage wide participation from talented footballers across the region.
