Fascination of Plants Day celebrated by Department of Botany, CUJ

JAMMU, May 19: Department of Botany, Central University of Jammu, celebrated the “Fascination of Plants Day’.
This is an international event held under the umbrella of the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO) to underlinethe importance of plant science for agriculture, in sustainably producing food, as well as for horticulture, forestry, and all of the non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy, and pharmaceuticals.
The Department organized several interesting and thought-provoking events based on the theme ‘Green revolution to dream revolution: Vision for sustainable agriculture’. Over a hundred students of Integrated M.Sc. programme and research scholars participated enthusiastically in the digital space.

Paint your thoughts, coordinated and judged by Dr. Sakshi Bhushan, Dr. Gazalla and Dr, Meenakshi Raina – 1st Neha Katru, 2nd Vanshika Bhatti, 3rd Sakshi Sharma (PG students) 1st Aakarshi, 2nd Suvriti and Ritika, 3rd Vaishali and Monika Sharma.

Finally, in Immuno-building the plant way – prepare a day’s menu, coordinated and judged by Dr. Deepak Bhardwaj 1st Ayushi Mahajan, 2nd Akanksha Sharma, 3rd Sanchi Gupta (PG); 1st Hitakshi Gupta, 2nd Vanshika Mangotra and 3rd Damini Supolia.
Dr. Deepak Kumar and Dr. Samantha Vaishnavi conceived and organized the proceedings of the day under the guidance of Prof. B. S. Bhau, Head, Department of Botany, CUJ.
