JAMMU, July 20: Scripting convincing win in their second consecutive match in the group stage, Evergreen Jammuites, Terminetters and Top Spinners keep their momentum going and moved ahead for the qualification to the knockout phase.
In the first match of the day, Top Spinners defeated Spin Twins by 3-1. Ritvik Gupta of Top Spinners once again was the difference between the two teams, winning both his matches and saving the day for his team.
In the second match, Singh Warriors got the better of the Jammu Warriors by 3-1.
Dr Prabhjot beat Sandeep Khadotra 3-2, Maninder Singh drubbed Asad Sharma 3-1, Hanumat Sharma prevailed over Saksham Verma 3-0 and Maninder Singh defeated Sandeep Khadotra 3-2.
The final two matches of the day went down to wire where Terminetters had the last laugh against Jammu Warriors whose vows continue as their most experienced player Sandeep Khadotra failed to make a mark on the second day of the competition as well, whereas Shorya Sharma and Maanay Mansotra of Terminetters convincingly outplayed their opponents. Jammu Warriors will have to win all their remaining ties and that too convincingly and hope for other results to be in their favour if they intend to qualify for the knockouts.
In the last and final match of the day, Evergreen Jammuites beat Singh Warriors by 3-1.Terminetters & Top spinners at joint first spot with Evergreen Jammuites occupying the next place on the points table.
Results Day 2: Top Spinners beat Spin Twins 3-1, Singh Warriors trounced Jammu Warriors 3-1, Evergreen Jammuites defeated Singh Warriors 3-1 and Terminetters drubbed Jammu Warriors 3-2.
The matches were played under the supervision of Ajay Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Table Tennis Association, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, Suresh Sharma (NIS Coach) and Meenu Rajesh.
