JAMMU, Apr 11: Ever Shine Jammu beat Jammu Sports Veterans by a huge margin of 97 runs in the inaugural tie of the Veterans Cricket Cup Akhnoor, which commenced at Ground Higher Secondary School Akhnoor here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Ever Shine Jammu scored 200 runs by losing just 4 wickets in 20 overs. Hardeep Singh played a splendid inning of 56 runs, while Jasvinder Singh also smashed some crispy shots and made 52 runs. Lakhvinder Singh scored 36 runs, Balvinder Singh made 35 runs and Ashwin and Narinder scored 11 runs each.
For Jammu Sports Veterans, Koushal and Pawan Sharma shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, Jammu Sports Veterans failed to chase the target and bundled out at paltry 103 runs by losing all the wickets in 19.5 overs. Vinayak scored half century, while Varun and Ajay made 15 and 11 runs respectively.
For Ever Shine Jammu, Preetpal Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 wickets, while Tarsem and Bansi shared 2 wickets each. Hardeep and Narinder took one wicket apiece.
Hardeep Singh was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Sushil Gupta maintained the scoreboard.
Earlier, Station House Officer (SHO) Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar inaugurated the tournament in presence of Rajinder Sharma President Management Little Flower High School Akhnoor, Raman Gupta Chairman Chander Bhaga High School Akhnoor, Atul Sudan Vice President Press Club Akhnoor, Deepak Sharma, Raman Sharma, Parveen Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Raman, Deepak Mangotra and Rajesh Sharma.
The Tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh General tary JKCA District Jammu.
