REASI, May 9: Department of Youth Services & Sports Reasi organized a district level Inter-School Football Competition for both girls and boys. District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan was the Chief Guest.
Interacting with the girl players, DDC Mahajan assured that the district administration will provide every type of assistance to encourage more girls to join sports. He said this event is a significant step towards promoting sports, especially football, among the girls in the district.
District Officer of Youth Services & Sports Tarsem Singh informed that this is the first time the girl’s teams from District Reasi will participate in the Divisional-level competition. Trials for U14 and U17 boys were also organized during the event.
The matches were officiated by Rahul Bakshi and Arpita Sharma. Other officials present on the occasion were Dalbir Mehta (Manager, Sports Stadium Reasi), Ashoka Kumar, Jagdev Singh, Arun Dev, Mohd. Raiz, Neha Sharma, Madhu Rani, Ankush Sharma and Anoop Kumar. PM Shri Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi beat Delhi Public School By 1-0. The event was organised under the supervision of DYSSO Reasi Tarsem Singh.
