JAMMU, May 10: The fifth edition of a three day Educational Conference, IIMUN Jammu chapter, being hosted by Heritage school Jammu started with an impressive inaugural ceremony which took place in a festive spirit of great excitement in the school Amphitheatre, here.
Dr Shah Faesal, bureaucrat turned politician graced the occasion as the chief guest. Shah has the distinction of being the first Kashmiri to top the Indian Civil Services Examination.
Rishi Jain, Vice President of IIMUN and Head of Substance Department was the special guest on the occasion.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries followed by the address of Janvi Jain, charge D’ affairs, who in her speech talked about the importance and relevance of MUNs.
A spectacular cultural programme was put up by the students of Heritage school who enthralled everyone with their splendid performance and set the ball rolling for the conference, which is being attended by over 350 students from 17 different schools of Jammu region.
The Principal, Akash Pradhan also addressed the gathering.
Rishi Jain held an interactive session with the chief guest, who also interacted with the young and enthusiastic students and answered their questions.
Shah Faesal in his address appreciated the efforts of IIMUN and host school in providing such an important forum to children for not only enhancing their public speaking skills but also shaping them as the leaders of tomorrow.
He gave the students a moral boost by advising them to overcome their fears and face all the challenges that life has to offer.
Later-on, Chapter Head, Pratik Daware declared the MUN open.
