JAMMU, Oct 22: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) in Prime Ministers Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh felicitated medallists of 4th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2018 senior (men & women) held at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar recently.
BJP State Additional Treasurer & President of Association Arvind Gupta and Secretary of the Association Gourav Arora were also present on the occasion.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while felicitating the Bronze medallists Komal Dhiman and Karan Chopra, congratulated them for this achievement.
He said that the sports form an integral part of our personality, adding that once a person starts practising any active sports, his or her performance in other daily chores also improves due to the increased level of activeness and self-belief.
Dr Jitendra asked the medallists to train more passionately for achieving further heights in the field. He also urged them to work for the promotion of all type of sports in the society, so as to inspire the youth of the Nation.
“Sports activities also help youth to be away from the drug menace and guide them not to derail from the mainstream,” Dr Jitendra stressed.
Arvind Gupta, while wishing both the medalists, also disclosed that Komal Dhiman is also selected for the world championship to be organized in Singapore next month.
