JAMMU, June 5: Delhi Public School (DPS), Nagbani organized a leadership programme for the academic session 2026–27, celebrating the spirit of leadership, responsibility and service. The event was graced by Surinder Kumar Bhagat, MLA Marh Constituency, as the chief guest.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the presentation of a potted plant to the chief guest as a token of gratitude.
In his welcome address, R K Verma, Principal, encouraged the newly elected student leaders to lead by example and emphasized that true leadership is reflected through service, discipline and excellence. He urged them to uphold the values of the institution with sincerity and dedication.
Sabhya Sharma was entrusted with the responsibility of head boy, while Avni Gadgotra was appointed head girl. The student leaders were formally adorned with badges and sashes by the chief guest, accompanied by Principal R K Verma, Deputy Headmistress Harshita Singh and the school coordinators.
The oath of responsibility was administered by the Principal, who led the council members in pledging to perform their duties with integrity, commitment and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, Surinder Kumar Bhagat appreciated the school’s efforts in nurturing young leaders and inspired students to face challenges with confidence, determination and a positive outlook. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Harshita Singh, Deputy Headmistress.
