DPS beats Stephens Int’l by 9 wkts in PEFI C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 24: Team of Delhi Public School Jammu defeated Stephens International Public School Miran Sahib by 9 wickets in the 1st PEFI Inter-school Cricket tournament, organised by the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) at Railway Ground, here today.
With this win, the DPS secured 3rd position as well as runners-up trophy in the championship, organised in collaboration with Trikuta Cricket and Football Academy.
After winning the toss, Stephens decided to bat first and scored a modest 136 runs by losing 8 wickets in the process in the stipulated 20 overs. Abhishek Kumar made 42 runs, Harjinder scored 26 and Hardeep contributed 15 runs to the total. From the bowling side, Aneek and Ashank took 2 wickets each, while Akshdeep, Gurtaj and Aashutosh shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, DPS chased the target easily by losing only one wicket and registered 9 wickets win over their opponents and secured 3rd position in the championship.
Aashutosh Mahajan of the Delhi Public School Jammu was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance.
The officials of the match were Balbir Singh, Dalvir Thakur, Siddharth and Aditya. The tournament was organised under the supervision of the Provincial secretary PEFI Jammu, Sukomal Ganguly.
