JAMMU, Apr 11: In a significant step towards holistic preparation for defence entrance exams like NDA and CDS, Doon Defence Academy (DDA) inaugurated its new campus “Trishakti” located on Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun.
The state-of-the-art campus, dedicated to cadets of the Foundation Course, was officially inaugurated with a traditional worship ceremony, and boasts modern and advanced sports infrastructure to complement academic training.
DDA Director Sandeep Gupta formally dedicated the campus to the cadets, underlining the Institution’s commitment to providing both quality education and high-level physical training. The event was graced by Vice Admiral Anurag G Thaliaal (Retired) as the chief guest, who stated that “Trishakti” provides an ideal environment for focused NDA preparation.
Speaking at the event, special guest Major General Chandra Prakash (Retired) commended the way Sandeep Gupta has integrated top-notch sports facilities with academics, offering cadets a comprehensive preparatory experience. “His continuous efforts to do something new and meaningful for the youth are praiseworthy,” said Chandra Prakash.
Director Sandeep Gupta, in his address, said the Trishakti campus now features facilities such as indoor badminton courts, a swimming pool, cricket and basketball grounds. Gupta further announced that shooting facilities would also be introduced soon, enhancing the campus’s training spectrum.
The ceremony also included a celebration recognizing academic excellence. The top 25 students of the 11th-grade Foundation Course Pratham Pag were awarded Rs 10 each as a token of appreciation. In a symbolic gesture, all 25 cadets released balloons inscribed with their names, marking their aspirations.
The celebration was attended by Sandeep Gupta, Deputy Director Divya Gupta’s younger son Shaan Gupta, along with guests including Major General Anand Singh (Retired), Colonel HS (Retired), Colonel Abhishek Mamgain (Retired), President of EME Corps RS Aswal, Chairman of Touch Wood School Aman Saxena, as well as family members, batch mates, faculty, staff, and the cadets.
