JAMMU, Feb 4: Dogra Law College organized 6th Matushri Inter-School Debate Competition on the Topic “Impact of Social Media on Society” in the Law College Auditorium, Dogra Educational Complex, Bari Brahmana, today.
The students from more than ten schools from the Jammu and Samba districts participated in the Debate Competition.
Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and Former Minister was the guest of honour, while Dr Sanjay Gupta, Director Law School was the chief guest on the occasion. Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, SC Khajuria, Director Adm and Campus Development and Bela Thakur, Director Academic was also present on the occasion.
Prof. Zaman, Anil Bhat, Bureau Chief PTI and Neeta Rawal, Principal Army School, Bari Brahmana were the distinguished Judges.
The function started with the lighting of Traditional Lamp and recitation of Shlokas invoking the blessings of Goddess Maa Saraswati. Thereafter the Bouquets were presented to the dignitaries.
Earlier, Prof VP Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College welcomed the guests and introduced the Topic of the Debate and clarified rules of the Debate.
This Debate is annual feature of the Dogra Law College and is organized in the cherished memory of Late Lakho Devi respectfully called as “Matushri” mother of Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust.
In the Debate Competition the 1st and 2nd position was bagged by speakers Vrinda Salgotra and Dipindera Bhat respectively, while the third position was secured by Hardaya Sahi. Consolation Prize was bagged by Ragini Sharma. The running trophy was won by K.C. International School, Akhnoor Road, Jammu.
Vote of thanks was presented by Etika Gupta, Lecturer Dogra Law College.
