Dogra HSS Shastri Nagar celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Feb 17: Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated its Annual Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony with pomp and show at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here today.
The Students of the School presented a bonanza of Cultural items with great enthusiasm and fervour.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Member CWC (AICC) and president Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Charak focused the attention of teaching faculty towards the education of the students which plays a vital role to enlighten the society as well as individuals. He hoped the school would go from strength to strength and become the centre for Scholastic excellence.
The Principal of the school, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak read out the Annual Report and expressed gratitude to parents for their co-operation and frequent interaction.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students.
The toddlers of Pre-Primary presented the Boom-Boom dance which enthralled the audience. The school students presented variety of items and skits which included Punjabi folk Dance, English song, etc.
The chief guest distributed the awards and prizes among the winners for their accomplishment in the fields of academics, sports, music and fine arts.
Prominent amongst those who attended the function were YV Sharma, president Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu, ID Soni, eminent Educationist, Surekha Charak, Secretary Managing Committee DHSS, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Uma Katal Director, Rich Harvest Schools, Bela Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education and Ruchi Administrator Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, Jammu.
Nisha Gupta and Komal Gupta conducted the proceedings of the programme. Earlier, Reetika Sharma presented welcome address, while Vice Principal Nirmala Kaul presented vote of thanks.
