Doda to lock horns with Udhampur in summit clash

UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: District Doda will take on District Udhampur in the finals of the Divisional Level Inter-District U-19 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
Earlier, in the semifinal clashes, Doda defeated formidable Jammu by 28 runs, while Udhampur got better of Kathua in a low scoring affair. In Jammu versus Doda semifinal, Doda made 136 in the stipulated 20 overs, while Jammu bundled out for 108 runs.
In other matches played today, Jammu defeated Reasi convincingly by riding on a splendid knock of 80 runs by Rithik Gupta, Kathua trounced Kishtwar in a close contest by a narrow margin of 7 runs.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Ved Parkash was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, while the matches were officiated  by Parminder Manhas, Parshotam Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Rajesh Khajuria, Raj Kumar Gupta, Raj Kumar Sharma, Shashi Sharma, Amit Sharma, Swarandeep Singh and Raman Kumar.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Champa Devi, Usha Bhat, Pawan Kumar, Raman Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Mohd Khalid, Bhupinder Singh and Ganesh Dutt Sharma.
