Division Level Inter-District Fencing Tournament gets underway

REASI, Sept 15: The Division Level Inter-District Fencing Tournament in the age groups of Under-14, 17 and 19 years for boys and girls was inaugurated at Garden Estate Hall, here today.
Babu Ram, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi was the chief guest and Bishan Singh, Chief Education Officer, Reasi was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Earlier, Dr Swaran Singh Chib, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi and Organizing Secretary of the tournament welcome the dignitaries and briefed about the tournament in which 183 boys and girls Fencers drawn from different districts of Jammu Division participated.
While addressing the gathering, Babu Ram, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, assured the participants that District Administration will provide all possible help in holding such event.
Chief Education Officer Reasi said that Education without Physical Education and sports is meaningless.
In Under-14 Epee girls, Raghi of Jammu bagged gold, while in Under-14 Foil girls, Riya of Jammu clinched gold and in Under-14 Sabre girls, Sherya of Jammu claimed gold.
In Under-14 Foil boys, Akshat of Jammu won gold, while in Under-17 Sabre boys, the gold medal went to Mayank of Jammu.
