RAMBAN, Dec 3: Under ongoing Civic Action Programme, District Ramban organized Athletic Meet for boys and girls at Batote, Rajgarh, Gool, Khari, Banihal and Ukhral.
In this tournament, events like, 100 Mtrs Race, 200 Mtrs Race, 8 Km Race, Discus Throw and Shot Put.
During the tournament at Khari, Yasir Ahmed Sehmat, Mohd Younus Mushtaq and Yasir Sharief were declared as winners in 100 Mtrs, 200 Mtrs and 8 Km race respectively.
At Rajgarh, Daler Singh was adjudged as winner in Discus Throw and Shot Put, Sachin Singh and Nadir Billal were 1st runners-up and Rashpal Sharma remained 2nd runners-up in Discus Throw and Shot Put.
Events like Shot put, 100 & 200 Mtrs were organised at Ukhral in which Yudhbir Singh, Dilbagh Singh and Manjeet Singh bagged 1st position in Shot Put, 100 Mtrs and 200 Mtrs whereas Dilbagh Singh, Yudhbir Singh and Pritam Singh Bali were adjudged 1st runners-up in the same events. Events like 100 Mtrs, Shot Put, Long Jump and Discus Throw for boys and girls were organized at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Batote in which Adil Javed, Monis Wani and Ahfaq ul Islam were adjudged 1st in 100 mtrs (under 17), Rubal Magray, Vijay Kumar and Sunil Singh clinched 1st position in 100 Mtrs (under 19), and Sajjad Parvez, Amit Kumar and Usman Javed bagged 1st position in 100 mtrs (under 14) event.
In Girls Category, Rukhsana Bano, Rubia Bano and Priti Devi were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in 100 mtrs race whereas for High Jump, Tania Anthal, Rukhshana Bano and Priti Devi again clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd position.
In boys category (High Jump), Sunil Singh, Afaq Ul Islam Lone and Sajjad Hussain Sheikh were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position. In shot put, (Boys Category) Adil Javed, Mohd Sajjad and Monis Wani clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd position whereas in Girls Category, Mehak Lone, Sunita Devi and Sunita Chouhan were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd fir shot put. For Discus throw (Boys Category) Sunil Singh, Naved Ahmed and Issaq ul Islam clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd position where as in Girls Category, Suman Devi, Rubina Akhter and Gunjan got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. Similar events were also conducted at Gool and Banihal. The motto of these events was “Drug Free-healthy – Crime Free Society”.
