JAMMU, Apr 23: District Level Inter-School tournaments in the disciplines of Taekwondo for girls’ Under-14 and Under-17 years got underway at Indoor Complex in MA Stadium, here.
Around 75 girls under various weight categories drawn from various institutions of District Jammu are taking part in the competitions.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the Chairmanship of Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu in a simple and well attended function.
In Under-14 girls, Taekwondo, -26 kg Shivani, APS, 1st and Bhawani Gupta, HSS New National, 2nd, while in -29 kg, Vasundra Sharma, Shangrilla Public School, 1st and Amanpreet Kour, APS, 2nd.
In 38 kg, Radhika Dutta, Cresent PS, 1st, Kavleen Kour, HSS New National School, 2nd, while in above 38 kg, Fiza Khar, Cresent PS, 1st and Prerena Sharma, APS, 2nd.
