District Jammu Rugby 7’s C’ship concludes

JAMMU, May 12: The Jammu District Rugby Association in collaboration with J&K Rugby under the aegis of J&K Sports Council organized 9th District Jammu Rugby 7’s Championship which witnessed an enormous turnout of 282 participants from different institutes throughout the district.
The two-day event was packed with thrilling matches, exciting performances, and enthusiastic crowds. The event was kick started by Anil Sharma In-charge Greenfield Gandhi Nagar. The championship was a fantastic opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and talents, and for rugby fans to experience the excitement of live sports.
The championship featured teams competing in various categories, including senior men, senior women, U-18 boys, U-18 girls, U-14 boys and U-14 girls.
In the senior men category, Cluster University Jammu won Gold, displaying excellent skills and coordination. The University of Jammu secured the second position, while Jammu Rugby Club took the third place.
In the U-18 boys category, Army Public School Jammu Cantonment emerged as winner, while Army Public School Nagrota secured the Silver medal and Jammu Rugby Club won the Bronze medal.
In the U-14 boys category, Army Public School Nagrota won the Gold medal, while Sacred Heart Public School Jammu secured Silver medal and Army Public School Jammu Cantonment won the Bronze medal.
In the senior women category, Jammu Rugby Club claimed the Gold medal, followed by Jammu Hurricanes with the Silver medal and Cobra Club secured the Bronze medal.
In the U-18 girls category, Army Public School Jammu Cantt. stood winner, while Army Public School Nagrota secured Silver and Doon International School Jammu won Bronze medal.
In the U-14 girls category, Army Public School Jammu Cantt. won Gold medal, while Army Public School Nagrota secured the Silver medal and Doon International School Jammu won the Bronze medal.
The championship was graced by Dr Brij Baloria former Indian Women’s Football Coach as chief guest and guest of honour was Anil Sharma Incharge Greenfield Ground Gandhi Nagar Jammu. They felicitated the winners.
