District Jammu emerges champion in Yoga competition

JAMMU, Oct 29: District Jammu emerged champion in the Inter-District State Level Yoga competition, which concluded at Youth Hostel Complex, Gandhi Nagar here.
In all, 81 boys and girls drawn from four districts of State took part in the competition.
The competition was  organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities under the patronage of Jehangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Jt. Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
Later-on, the competition was declared closed by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu alongwith Sher Singh, ZPEO Gandhi Nagar in a simple but well attended function.
In Under-14 boys, Jammu District emerges winner and Udhampur remains runners-up, while in Yoga Under-17 boys, Jammu and Srinagar won first and second places respectively.
In Under-19 boys, Jammu and Udhampur districts won first and second places respectively.
In Yoga Under-14 girls, Jammu District won first place and Udhampur claimed the second spot, while in Under-17 girls, Jammu and Udhampur claimed first and second place respectively and in Under-19 girls, Jammu won first place and Srinagar clinched the second place.
The event was officiated by Parshotam Singh, Vaneet,  Ravinder Singh, Rajesh Bandral and Ankush.
The competition was as part of Annaul Calendar activities of the Department of Youth Services &?Sports.
