JAMMU, Nov 11: District Jammu emerged overall winner, while, district Rajouri and district Kathua claimed second and third positions in the two days State Level Universal Shotokan Karate Championship, which concluded today at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Ambphalla.
On the occasion, Ajay Kumar, Principal, Sainik School, Nagrota was the chief guest, while, KCS Mehta, Principal, Army Public School, Akhnoor, Sneh Bali, general secretary, World Women Awakening Organization, Prof Nancy Handoo, faculty member, GCET and Sanjeev Soni, social worker, were the guest of honour.
While speaking Ajay Kumar said that karate is good for all round development of the children as well as they become physically and morally strong.
KCS Mehta in his speech encouraged the players to participate in the sports activities to build their personalities.
Black belts were awarded to Tarun Sharma, Anil Sharma, Arun Jamwal.
The matches were officiated by Tarun Sharma, president, Universal Shotokan Karate-Do Association, Jammu, Shruti, organizing secretary, Rinku Sharma, Anil, Rakesh, Dildar Singh, coaches, Rajesh Raina and Arun.
At the end, Sanjay Kumar, Chief Instructor and State president of thr association, presented vote of thanks.
