District Jammu Bench Press C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Sept 14: Two days District Jammu Bench Press Championship unequipped and equipped in Sub-junior, Junior, Senior and Master (men & women), organised by District Power Lifting Association, concluded at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha near Bahu Fort Police Station, here today.
Station House Officer Bahu Fort, Madam Kirti was the special guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winner and runner-up players.
In this championship, Pankaj Chib, Harish Kumar and Amita Devi won best lifter in senior unequipped & equipped while Sakshi Koul, Surjeet Singh & Harshul Sharma remained best lifters in junior unequipped & equipped and Vishal Sudan and Nitin won best lifter in sub junior category besides Shailender Singh won best lifter in master I & II category.
About 130 players participated from Jammu district. Pankaj Chib created a new record breaking the previous record in 83 kg category by lifting 170 kg. Ajay Sharma, Rahul Sawhney, Gulzar Singh, Adil Ashraf Khan, Sanjeev Singh, Vinay Sharma were the officials of the championship which was sponsored by Iron Lifter GYM, Galaxy GYM and Royal Health Club.
Ojasvi Kohli, Heena Naiz, Sakshi Koul, Amita Devi, Gagan Kour, Adeela Shafi, Ritu Singh, Anuradha Rali, Samreen Kour, Monica Anand, Shivani Langeh, Ruby Sharma, Tamana, Tanu Jamwal & Balvinder Kour won gold medals in women category, whereas Mehak Talwa, Manisha Thapa and  Shivani secured silver medals.
In men category, the gold medals were secured by Aman Manhas, Uday Manhas, Prem Kumar, Raja Babbar, Chetan Dogra, Harshul Shama, Sunil Kumar, Joginder Singh, Vishal Sudan, Nitin Singh, Rishab Singh, Varun Manhas, Tanuj Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Sameer Sharma, Nitish Kumar, Haroon Choudhary, Ashok Singh, Vishal Chib, Om Dutt, Khushwinder Singh, Pankaj Singh, Ankush Chib, Kulwant Singh, Laxkay Thapa, Shoy Gupta, Amandeep Bassan, Harish Kumar, Shalender Singh, Sikander Lal, Lovleen Singh, Adesh Singh, Avtar Singh, Ajay Sharma, Anesh Puri, Udaiveer Singh, Ankush Sharma, Manpreet Singh & Vishal Kumar, whereas Rajat Kumar, Sukhbir Singh, Aman Dogra, Kartik, Parhat Manhas, Imran, Anshu Kumar, Harsh, Ravi Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Vishawjeet Singh, Rajat Kumar, Ramanjot Singh, Nikhil Saroch, Bhupinder Singh, Sumit Singh, Rohit Kumar, Rajat Manhas, Rahul Bassan, Angdev Manhas, Karan Dev, Abhiam Sharma & Deepak Thapa bagged silver medals.
Kalash Sharma, Kanav Bhagat, Harjot, Aman Singh, Tahir Badhan, Harvin Singh, Vansh Chib, Ankit Sharma, Kanuj Sharma, Rajan Singh, Ragav Verma, Mohit Saini, Rakesh Kumar & Anil Kumar clinched bronze medals.
