POONCH, Mar 29: District Hockey Championship for Junior Boys and Senior Women commenced here today.
Nirdosh Kumar Manager Sports Stadium Poonch declared open the championship in presence of Narjeet Singh Retd ZPEO. Other prominent persons present were Vijay Kumar PEM, Ravinder Singh, Rajinder Singh Toofan, Kewal Krishan, Sanjay Misri (Veteran Hockey Players), Sourav Sharma, Matinderpal Singh, Ranveet Singh, Navjot Singh (Hockey Coaches), Pervaiz Malik Chairman EHSAAS Foundation Poonch and members of REK Association Poonch.
The first match was played between Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Club and Stadium XI. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Club won by 9-0 goals. From BBSB Club, Indpreet Singh and Amandeep scored 3 goals each, Noib, Jagmeet and Damandeep scored 1 goal each.
The match was officiated by technical panel including Ranveet Singh, Kavaldeep Singh, Harmeet Singh and Mohammad Tahir.
The Championship is being organized by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
The Championship is being organized under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Kuku Secretary Hockey India, Rajeev Sharma Acting President Hockey J&K, Dr Taran Singh General Secretary Hockey J&K and is being technically supervised by Mukesh Kumar.
