GANDERBAL, May 12: The District Carrom Championship concluded, here today in which more than 100 participants including boys and girls participated.
Dawar Rashid, assistant general secretary presided over the function as chief guest. He appreciated the measures taken by J&K Sports Council to overhaul the sports structure in the Union Territory. Rahil Shafi Incharge Sports Hall, Sehpora Ganderbal and other members of the association were present during the closing ceremony function of the event.
The event was organised by the District unit of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association under the aegis of J&K Carrom Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the J&K Sports Council’s special initiative My Youth My Pride.
The Jammu & Kashmir is going to organise District level tournaments in every district of the J&K UT, said General Secretary Mudasir Khan of the association.
Mumin Fayaz emerged winner in the Carrom Championship, while 2nd place went to Rumin and Ramees secured 3rd place in the senior category of the event.
Salman was declared as winner, Aasif as 2nd and Mumin stood 3rd in the junior category of boys section and Arizoo was declared as winner, Iqra as 2nd and Tabasum as 3rd in the junior girls section.
The event was held under the overall supervision of Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir Nuzhat Ara, Manager Rahil Shafi Incharge Sports Complex Sehpora Ganderbal and Arif Sultan vice president of the J&K Carrom Association.
