Dismal show by Indian women shooters at the World C’ships

Granada, Sept 15: Indian markswomen’s disappointing performance at the World Champiponship continued as some of the well-known names put up a sorry show on the eighth day of the competition.

In the 50m Rifle prone for women, Kuheli Ganguly shot 619.4 to finish a poor 26th while Lajja Goswami and Raj Chaudhary who shot identical scores of 615.4 to finished at lowly 47th and 48th positions respectively.

In the junior men’s category in the 10M Air Rifle event, the Indian trio of Satyam Chauhan, Ekambir Singh Mandi and Prashant missed out on the start list for the final, finishing at the 22nd, 29th and 32nd positions with scores of 618.2, 616.8 and 616.2 respectively.

In the junior women’s 50M Rifle Prone events, Indian team finished a poor ninth. The Indian team that consisted of Elizabeth Susan Koshy, Priyal Keni and Anjum Moudgil finished 28th, 34th and 43rd shooting a total of 612.3, 609.4 and 604.8 respectively. (PTI)
