JAMMU, Apr 19: Disha Pandith, a promising Kashmiri Pandit athlete, was honoured with the Maa Sharika Sammaan Award 2026 by Kashmiri Sewak Samaj for her outstanding achievements in Sqay, a traditional martial art of Kashmir.
Disha has earned international recognition through her consistent performances and dedication to the sport. Apart from her achievements, she has been actively contributing to the development of young athletes from the Kashmiri Pandit community by organizing coaching camps and awareness programmes.
She has also been selected to represent India in the upcoming 6th Asian Sqay Championship scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan. The Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association expressed confidence that she will bring laurels to the country.
