KATRA, June 16: Wrestler Dillar Khan of J&K Police lifted 57th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal title by defeating Deepak Kakran of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi, held at Aghar Jitto in Katra, here today.
The event was organized in the memory of great revolutionary farmer Baba Jitto and Bua Kouri as part of three days of historic Mela.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes among the wrestlers in presence of Baba MohanLal (Chairman), Krishan Singh (Pappu) former Sarpanch and President Awardee Gopal Krishan Komal (Retd ZEO) and Inspector RS Rana was the guest of honour.
Jugal Kishore (Bunty), a social activist and wrestling promoter presided over the function, while proceeding and vote of thanks were presented by Gopal Krishan Komal and Krishan Singh respectively.
The bouts were officiated by Deepak Wazir, Om Parkash Verma, Tulinder Kumar and Kartar Singh. The winner of the 1st bout was with cash of Rs 12000 along with traditional Gurj, while runner-up was awarded with Rs 10000.
The 2nd bout was won by Chandi of Kolhapur (Maharashtra) by defeating Surjeet Singh of J&K Police and both were awarded with Rs 9000 and Rs 6000 respectively, whereas 3rd bout was won by Mam Hussain of Jhajjarkotli (Domel) by defeating Sanjay of Delhi and were awarded with Rs 4000 and 3000 respectively.
In other bouts, Muneer beat Subash, Gurdev defeated Radha, Sabmlok trounced Veer Singh, Rahul beat Vijay, Karnail trounced Rinku, Arun beat Gourav, Balwan defeated Sudesh, Sheru beat Ishwar, Ganesh defeated Sikander, Sudesh beat Shotu, Zakat Ali defeated Deepak, Tofek trounced Rahul, Shubam beat Imtiaz and Varun trounced Ajeet Singh.
