JAMMU, Mar 20: Promising young opening batsman, Dikshant Kundal carried his bat through and remained unbeaten on patient 92 runs off 153 balls to guide United Cricket Club (UCC) Udhampur crush Barjan Cricket Club (BCC) Samba by a big margin of 115 runs in the ongoing Rigour Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy Stadium at Gharota, near here today.
Earlier, batting first, UCC scored a decent total of199 runs, riding on Dikshant’s brilliance and a valuable 30 runs by Brijesh at number 11. Otherwise at one stage, UCC were struggling at 119 for 9, but the duo of Dikshant and Brijesh helped the team to score199 runs. From BCC, Shubam was the wrecker-in-chief, scalping 6 important wickets of UCC including Raman (5), Gaurav Khajuria (6), Vikram (0), Tanveer (2), Sunil Sharma (5) and Abish (11).
In reply, the BCC Samba bundled out for 84 runs as their batsmen fell in quick succession to the UCC bowling duo of Ritik and Anchal who took 5 and 3 wickets respectively, while Brijesh and Ashish claimed 1 wicket each. Saleem and Pardeep Singh contributed 20 and 13 runs to the total for BCC Samba respectively. For his superb batting display, Dikshant Kundal of UCC Udhampur was adjudged as the man of the match.
