RAJOURI, Sept 22: DIET Rajouri is organizing Science Quiz competition and holding lectures on the topic “Genetically Modified Crops and Food Security” throughout the district.
This programme is a part of activities to celebrate National Science Day 2013 which is being sponsored by Department of Science and Technology Government of India and State Council for Science and Technology Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Quiz Competition is being organized in all the 15 zones of the district and the winning teams from zonal level competition will be invited to compete in a District Level Competition.
The competition has been held in 5 zones so far including Sunderbani, Lower Hathal, Nowshera, Manjakote and Dandesar in which teams of all the High and Higher Secondary Schools participated.
In zone Sunderbani, the teams of HSS Bajabaien, HS Tanda Kangri and HS Kalideh got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In zone Lower Hathal, the teams of High School Channiprat, HS Barnara and HS Thandapani bagged the first three positions while In Nowshera the first three positions were respectively bagged by High School Langer, Boys Higher Secondary School Nowshera and High School Gagrote.
In Manjakote zone, the first three positions were bagged by HS Ghambir Brahmna, HS Hattanseri and HSS Kakora respectively, while in zone Dandesar, team of HSS Seri got the first position and the second and third positions were bagged by HS Chackjarallan and HS Gagrote.
The competition in other zones will be held as per the schedule circulated earlier.
