DIC Doda organizes Debate, Cultural Programme

JAMMU, Nov 28: Continuing with the efforts to create awareness among the people regarding need of literacy in women, District Information Centre, Doda yesterday organized a Debate in Nehru Himalyan Academy, Middle School Pranoo on the topic “Importance of Women Education”.
Gurdev Singh, Headmaster GHS Pranoo was the chief guest on the occasion while as Ashraf Ali Ex-Sarpanch Pranoo was the guest of honour, besides  Principal, Nehru Himalayan Academy Satish Kumar Dogra was also present in the function.
13 students drawn from different classes participated in the debate competition and expressed their views, Nosia Banoo Niak of 8th class and Vanshika of 2nd class were jointly adjudged as 1st while Summayia Banoo and Shafia Banoo both of 8th class were awarded 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Later-on, a cultural programme was also presented by the artists of District Information Centre Doda which kept the audience bound to their places. The artists presented their songs in Bhaderwahi, Sirazi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Dogri, Punjabi  and Hindi. Those artists who participated in the cultural programme included Shahzad Ali, Milkhi Ram Mastana,  Janzeb Alam and Beer Singh besides other artists also made their presentations in the programme.
Trophies and certificates were distributed among the winners and participants of the debate competition by the chief guest and guest on honour.
