JAMMU, Oct 3: Dhananjay of Chhatisgarh emerged clear leader with 6 points on 3rd day of the ongoing All India Level J&K Police open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, being held here at MA Stadium.
Total 115 players from 15 different states of the Country including far off states like Assam, Kerala, Manipur and Maharashtra are participating in the tournament. The event is being organized by All J&K Chess Association and sponsored by J&K Police.
Total 9 rounds will be played in this event under Swiss system. Rupees three lakh is the total cash prize money of the tournament. There are reserved prizes of Rs 43000 for players of J&K State.
Earlier in the morning, Taranvir Singh Gujral (Coordinator) along with Baldev Raj (Vice President) inaugurated today’s round in which Dhananjay of Chhattisgarh beat Singh Soham Rahul of Assam, Gupta Rajesh of Maharashtra defeated Khalid Amin of J&K, Arun Rathi of Haryana thrashed Amanpreet Singh of Punjab and Akshay Anand of Punjab drew with Avinash Sharma of UP.
Vikram Ranolia of Haryana defeated Abhijit Joshi of Maharashtra, Ravi Sharma of J&K thrashed Ajit Singh of J&K, Jagdeep Singh Soodan of Delhi drew with Vigneshwaran S of Tamil Nadu, Jose A N K of Kerala drew with Anirudh Trehan of Punjab, Sahil Tickoo of Haryana beat Sachin Chandi of Maharashtra and Raees Ahmad AQ of Maharashtra thrashed H Jacky Singh of Manipur.
