JAMMU, Oct 12: Dhairya Choudhary (17) of Jodhamal Public School bagged the State champion tag for the 7th consecutive time in Swimming competition for school boys, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Jodhamal School, here.
The competition was held under the supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jammu.
He helped Jammu to emerge as the overall champion in Divisional level swimming competition.
He was highly appreciated in recent CBSE North Zone clusters held at Montessori Cambridge, Pathankot in September this year where he was the only one from Jammu and kashmir who managed to make it up to the awardee list.
He has been swimming since last 14 years without any formal coaching from anywhere. He has bagged 3 gold at interstate competition and also holds the record in 50m freestyle swimming. His medal tally after this competition has summed up to 121 medals .He is scheduled to play the 65th SGFI Nationals at Delhi this November.
He owes his entire credit to YouTube videos which have moulded him into a better swimmer and believes that he would not have been able to climb the ladder of achievements without the support of his parents, school and Jammu club, Jammu.
