DGP sanctions cash awards for outstanding JKP sportspersons

JAMMU, Apr 21: Director General of Police, Dr S P Vaid today sanctioned cash reward along with Commendation Certificate Class 1st in favour of those J&K Police Sports personnel who have performed exceptionally outstanding at National and International  arena for year 2016-17.
The award of Rs 50,000 has been sanctioned in favour of SPO Surya Bhanu Partap Singh for securing two Gold Medals in 12th SAF Games at Shilong in  February 2016 and  Senior National Wushu Championship Ranchi in January 2016,  two Silver Medals in  8th Wushu World Cup Xian China  November 2016 and Master Challenge Cup Macau China  August 2016 and Gold Medal.
Similarly an award of Rs 25,000 has been sanctioned in favour of SPO Harmeek Singh Handball (Team event) for bagging Gold Medal in 12th SAF Games at Shillong February 2016, Rs 20,000 in favour of W/Ct. Simi Sharma   Archery Team  for Bronze Medals (individual and Team event) in  4th All India Police Archery Championship at Nagaland   2016, Rs 15,000 for W/Sgct Khalida Banu Wushu Team  for getting Silver Medal in  1st All India Police Judo Cluster at Kolkota -2017, Rs 10,000 each to W/Cts. Rita Devi, Usha Devi and Mehnaz Kousar Archery Team for Bronze Medal in 5th All India Police Archery Championship at Ranchi-2016, Rs 10,000 each to Consts. Sajjad Ahmad, Mehraj-ud-din and W/Ct. Stanzin Youthok Wushu team for Bronze Medals in 1st All India Police Judo Cluster at Kolkota- 2017 and Rs 10,000 each to Const. Roshan Sharma, SPO Nisar Ahmad and SPO Aman Khajouria of Wrestling Team Bronze Medals in 64th and 65thAll India Police Wrestling Cluster at Patna and Haryana during 2016-17 respectively.
Awards have also been sanctioned in favour of J&K Police Coaches and Assistant Coaches. While Inspector Kuldeep Handoo (Wushu) has been awarded Rs. 25000, HC   Om Parkash (Wrestling) will get Rs.12000,  Krishan Singh (Asst. Coach) Rs. 10000, W/Const. Darshana Devi (Archery ) Rs. 12000, Inspr. Sajad Hussain (Volleyball) Rs  5000,  Const. Naresh Kumar (Asstt. Coach) Rs. 3000,  Inspr. Ranjeet Singh (Football) Rs.  5000 and Foll.  Intikhab Alam (Asstt. Coach) Rs. 3000.
J&K Police Football and Volleyball Teams have been awarded cash rewards of Rs.42000 and Rs. 26000 for reaching Quarterfinals of AIP Games.
J&K Police is considering imparting specialized sports trainings through its Coaches and Instructors in every District to benefit maximum youth. J&K Police shall organize Martyrs’ Memorial Football Tournament, Pedal for Kashmir, Run for Fun, Water Sports events, Shikara Race Adventurous Sports, Sports for Special persons and Range Sports Festivals in all Ranges at Srinagar and Jammu in the days to come.
J&K Police has formed Women Football, Volleyball, Handball and Basketball Teams recently while Archery, Weightlifting, Boxing and Wu-shu teams already existing. These have excelled at State and National level events.
Lauding the outstanding sports persons for their outstanding performance in various events, Director General of Police Dr S P Vaid has also hailed the efforts of ADGP Armed under whose immediate supervision J&K Police sports personnel have excelled at National and International levels besides congratulating all officers and officials of all Zones of J&K Police who contributed in successful organizing different sports meets, augmentation of J&K Police Youth Clubs and Drug De-addiction Centres under Civic Action Programmes, through-out the State.
