DFA Reasi, Young Rovers script wins in State Football C’ship

JAMMU, Apr 3: District Football Association (DFA) Reasi and Young Rovers registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing 26th State Football Championship, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football Ground, here today.
In the first match played today, Young Rovers defeated DFA Leh in a close contest by two goals to one (2-1). From Young Rovers, Avinash scored the first goal in 47th minute, while Amar Singh netted the second goal in 51st minute. From DFA Leh, Uryan netted the lone goal in 57th minute.
In another match, DFA Reasi drubbed Jammu United by three goals to one via tie-breaker. The match ended (1-1) draw in the stipulated time and was decided only in the tie-breaker.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Singh, Abhishek Chandan, Suresh Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Ricky Kumar and Honey Kumar.
The matches among others were witnessed by Sheikh Mehmood, District President DFA Jammu; Kuldeep Singh, Vice President Jammu; Ramesh Chander, Vice President Jammu, SM Gill, Charan Dass and Rajesh Sumbria.
