Jammu, Sept 16:The Department of Environment and Remote Sensing DERS organised Symposium and Painting Competition in G G M Science College,here today.
The main objective of the function was to create awareness among the students about the importance of ozone layer in the life of Planet earth and all living beings dwelling on it.
This years theme for the Ozone day is “A healthy Atmosphere , the future we want”
S. Satinder Singh, the Principal of the College welcomed the chief guest Roshan Jaggi, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu.
The students of the College enthusiastically participated in both the event of symposium and Painting Competition. The students adjudged Ist IInd and IIIrd in symposium were Isar Sharma, Sonia Sharma, Tahir Hafiz and consolation prize was awarded to Monika Bhau. In Painting Competition, Mohd. Ali, Sumeer Kadota, Ahmed Hussain were adjudged Ist, IInd and IIIrd while consolation prize was given to Shewetangi Dutta.
