JAMMU, Apr 9: Department of Physical Education dominated in Badminton on day-2 of the Inter-Department Tournaments in the disciplines of Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Carrom and Volleyball, being played in Gymnasium Hall at University of Jammu, here.
In Badminton (Women), Deptt. of Phy Education beat Chemistry Deptt. by 2-1, while Commerce Deptt got better of Mathematics Deptt. by 2-1 and Political Science Deptt. prevailed over Law Deptt. by 2-1.
In Badminton (Men), Phy. Education Deptt beat Pol. Science Deptt. by 2-0; Law Deptt. beat Commerce Deptt. by 2-1; Phy. Education trounced M.B.A. Deptt. by 2- 0 and Law School beat Mathematics Deptt. by 2-0.
Other results: Table Tennis (Women) Final: Chemistry Deptt. beat Deptt. of Physical Education by 2-0
to retain the title trophy.
Table Tennis (Men): Zoology Dept. drubbed Mathematics Department by 2- 0; The Business School (MBA) trounced Deptt. of Phy. Education by 2-1; Commerce Deptt. beat Law Deptt. by 2-1.
CARROM (Men): The Department of Law defeated The Business School by 2-0 and in Carrom (Women), Deptt. of Law beat Department of Chemistry by 2-1 and The Law School beat Department of Bio-technology by 2-0.
Chess (Men): The Law School beat Department of Commerce by 2-1, The Business School beat Deptt. of Chemistry by 2-1 and in Chess (Women), Deptt of Law beat Department of Chemistry by 2-1 and Deptt of Commerce prevailed over Department of Geography by 2-0.
Volleyball (Men): Deptt. of Law beat Department of Chemistry 2-0 by ( 25-16, 25-18), and Deptt. of Geography Beat Dept. of Physical Education 2-0 by (25-18, 25-20).
In the Volleyball final, Deptt. of Geography outplayed Law School 2-0 by (25-21, 26-24).
