KATRA, Apr 3: Pahalwan Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara, Delhi lifted 62nd Moori Kesari 2017 Title by defeating wrestler Ishaq (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu in a very tough fight that lasted for 19 minutes, near Middle School Moori, here today.
The Dangal was organized by Peer Baba Dangal Committee Moori in Association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Romesh Chander.
Commandant CRPF Katra, Susheel Kumar Misra was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
SSP and former President Wrestling Federationn of India Dushyant Sharma was the chief guests while Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was the guest of honour.
SHO Katra, Arvind Sambyal and retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma were the special guests.
General Secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Social Activist and Wrestling Promoter, Ram Paul Sharma and AE Kuldeep Kumar Sharma were also present on the occasion.
In all, 70 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
Commandant CRPF Susheel Kumar Misra gave Rs 15,000 as cash prize money to the winner of 1st malli Pahalwan Kapil in presence of other dignitaries, while Rs 10,000 was given to runners-up wrestler Ishaq (Lallu).
The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by RS Manhas, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and Mohd. Fareed, while welcome address was presented by Sapanch Romesh Chander.
The vote of thanks was presented by Om Parkash.
