Defending Champion J&K retains Handball title

JAMMU, May 16: Defeating the strong side of Delhi in the finals with a narrow margin of 2 goals (19-17), the Jammu and Kashmir Handball (men) team has retained the title in the 16th Inter-Zonal Men and Women Handball Championship held at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh from May 11 to May 13.
The Jammu and Kashmir Handball Association welcomed the team at Jammu Railway Station here today and celebrated the victory with pomp and show.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K was defending champion of this championship as the mens team had clinched the title trophy in the 15th Inter-Zonal Men and Women Handball Championship last year also.
