JAMMU, July 23: Deepak Handa was unanimously re-elected as the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Yoga Association in the Annual General Body Meeting of the Asociation held at Amar Singh Club, here today.
Surinder Pathak and S. Sarabjeet Singh were elected as general secretary and treasurer respectively.
The House reposing confidence in the newly elected president authorized him to select his team including executive members in consultation with senior members of the Association.
The president thanked the members for authorizing him to elect his team and assured the members that the house will be represented by the members from different districts and other members who have been associated with Yoga and have contributed for the upliftment of the game in the State.
Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, vice president of the J&K Olympic Association was the observer, while Dr Ashutosh Sharma, senior member of J&k Yoga Association and general secretary of J&K Olympic Association were also present on the occasion.
Vote of thanks was presented by Sunil Sharma, senior member of the J&K Olympic Association.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Vikram Handa, general secretary J&K Basketball Association, Anshuman Sharma, former secretary J&K Yoga Association, S Ravinder Singh, general secretary J&K Athletic Association, Rajan Sharma, former DSO Sports Council, SS Gill, Deputy Cdr BSF, Anil Gupta and Mukesh Sharma, senior Yoga coaches.
Observer from J&K State Sports Council did not turn up to observe the proceedings.
