Deepak butchers Kongposh Club bowlers as Koushur Club, Yankees CC script wins

JAMMU, Mar 9: Deepak scored magnificent 82 runs off 49 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes to help Koushur Cricket Club thrash Kongposh Cricket Club by a big margin of 89 runs in the ongoing 2nd Kashyap Reshi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Saffron Cricket Club in association with National Conference Minority Cell at KC Sports Academy ground, here.
In another match, Yankees Cricket Club got better of Tiger Cricket Club Udhampur by 34 runs to advance into the next round of the Tournament.
Earlier, in the first match, Koushur Club drubbed Kongposh Cricket Club in an easy contest by a huge margin of 89 runs.
Batting first, Koushur Club, riding on a splendid innings of 82 runs by Deepak scored a mammoth total of 212 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Apart from Deepak’s 82 runs, Raju contributed power-packed 36 runs off just 12 balls with 7 fours and one six. For Kongposh Club, Ajay took 2 wickets, while Sunil claimed one.
In reply, Kongposh Club managed to score 123 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 89 runs. Ashwani and Rocky contributed 20 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For Koushur Club, Sahil scalped 3 wickets, while Rahi bagged 2 wickets. Deepak was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, Yankees Club prevailed over Tiger Cricket Club Udhampur by 34 runs to advance in the Tournament
Batting first, Yankees Club scored a modest total of 137 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the progress. Abhay and Kapil contributed 34 and 24 runs to the total respectively. For Tiger Club, Amir took 3 wickets, while Rakesh claimed 2.
In reply, Tiger Club bundled out for a paltry total of 103 runs, thus lost the match by 34 runs. Sanjeev and Rakesh contributed 20 and 19 runs to the total. For Yankees Club, Romil and Vasu bagged 3 wickets each, while Tushar and Kapil scalped 2 wickets each. Kapil was declared man of the match.
