SAMBA, May 14: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Samba organized the Inter-Zonal District Level Tournament for boys and girls Under 14 and17 years age group of various zones at Higher Secondary School ground Kehli Mandi.
In these competitions, 640 boys and girls of Government and private educational institutions will participate in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball for two days.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba R K Varma inaugurated the tournament. Speaking on the occasion, he impressed upon the students to take part in the games and sports and also excel in academics. He asked the teachers to inculcate value of patriotism, nation building and moral values which would help the students to face the challenges of life.
Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba Jarpal Singh briefed about the tournament.
Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Samba, Zonal Physical Education Officers, Ramgarh, Vijaypur, Conveners of various committees besides teachers of various institutions were present on the occasion.
