DODA, Dec 31: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode flagged off marathon race under Fit India Campaign, here today.
The race started from Sports Stadium Doda and culminated at Ganpat Bridge Pull Doda by passing through Dessa Chowk and Dak Bungalow. The motive of the marathon was to generate awareness among the common masses about value of healthy life.
More than 600 participants including girls and boys from different schools of various age groups participated enthusiastically in the marathon. The DDC highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness in the development of healthy society. “Marathon is the best way to keep the body fit and healthy,” he added.
Later, refreshments were also provided to all participants. CPO Doda, SP Operations, SDM Thathri, DySP Headquarters, DYSSO Doda and many other officials were present during the event.
