DBP Club in Boys, MA Club in Girls triumph at Junior District Kabaddi C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 4: The Jammu District Kabaddi Association, in partnership with the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and the J&K Sports Council, hosted the Junior District Kabaddi Championship for boys and girls at the Kabaddi Stadium in Jammu. The tournament witnessed impressive performances, with DBP Sports Club securing the Gold in the Boys’ category and M.A. Sports Club taking home the Gold in the Girls’ category.
DBP Sports Club displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament, ultimately clinching the title in the Boys’ category. Their final match was a thrilling contest that showcased the team’s tactical prowess and strength, resulting in a decisive victory that earned them the top honour. Vimal Vidyala took the Silver medal after a strong showing, while National Sports Club claimed the Bronze, narrowly edging out the competition.
In the Girls’ category, M.A. Sports Club emerged as the champion, overcoming formidable opponents with resilience and teamwork. Their final match against National Sports Club Nagrota was closely contested, but M.A. Sports Club’s consistent performance throughout the tournament secured them the Gold. National Sports Club Nagrota finished with the Silver, and K.V. Universal Tigers earned the Bronze, rounding off a memorable event for all teams involved.
The championship drew numerous dignitaries, including Anil Gupta, President of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, who served as the chief guest while S S Gill, Surinder Mohan, and others attended as guests of honour. Surinder Mohan commended the players for their dedication to the sport and emphasized the positive role of sports in youth development.
