Cyclist Sanjay Mayure reaches Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 10: A renowned cyclist of India, Sanjay Mayure from Buldana of Maharashtra reached Jammu as part of a cycling expedition from Kashmir to Kannyakumari.
He started his cycling expedition from Lal Chowk Srinagar on October 8 and will reach at Kanyakumari on November 18 via Samba, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Delhi, Gwalior, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Rameshwaram covering 4100 kilometres distance.
He was welcomed by the monks and volunteers of the Ramakrishna Mission, followed by Swami Yajnadharanandaji Maharaj. He started his expedition as a part of ‘Fit India Movement’ to spread a message regarding cycling to combat with pandemic COVID-19 and to reduce pollution.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the year of 2003 he did a cycle tour of Europe and Asia and covered about 21 countries on cycle.  In January this year, he did Narmada Parikrama of about 4000 kilometres and was awarded with various awards.
