JAMMU, Jan 27: A well known Cycling Group, JK Randonneurs accorded warm see off to Narpat Singh, popularly known as the Green Man of India, who is on a mission of spreading awareness of saving environment and attempting record for the Guiness Book of World Records.
Hailing from Barmer in Rajasthan, cyclist Narpat is on a mission of covering 25000 kilometers in one year to spread awareness about saving environment.
He was flagged off from Udhampur yesterday and began journey ahead today from Jammu, wherein his efforts were applauded and supported by JK Randonneurs Cycling Group.
It is pertinent to mention here that in his meagre salary of 11,000, Narpat spends around 70 percent on nature saving works. He has planted 83000 plants and saved 132 deers, 5 peacocks, 4 rabbits, 1 owl and 1 eagle from the clutches of illegal animal catchers.
He had presented 251 plants as dowry on his sister’s marriage and had also presented plants to all the guests who attended the marriage.
