Cycle yatra organised to commemorate 550th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev

JAMMU, Mar 1: Commemorating the 550th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev, Eco-Cycleture today organised second cycle yatra from here to Gurudwara Barth Sahib, Pathankot.
The yatra commenced from the Raja Electronic, opposite Airport at 5:30 am Jammu and led by the founder of the Eco-Cycleture, Harpyas Singh and returned on the same day at the starting point while covering the distance of 220 km. Seventeen members of the organisation took part in the yatra enthusiastically.
The purpose of the event was to disseminate awareness among the masses especially targeting the youth and children to stay healthy through physical exercise, keep the surrounding clean and eco friendly by planting more plants, stay away from the drug abuse and other social evils.
During the yatra, the cyclists distributed leaflets, displayed banners, hoardings and made personal interaction with the locals at various places to educate the masses against the peril of drug abuse, exploitation and degrading eco-balance, which is slowly and steadily annihilating the human race and also detrimental to the whole flora and fauna.
Besides, the cycle riders also planted saplings of various plants by involving the locals, selected for the plantation.
