Cueists display skill, class to advance to second round

JAMMU, Sept 19: Displaying skill and class, the young cueists defeated their rivals to move into the second round in the junior snooker event in the Jammu District Open Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, Mandeep Singh got better of Danish Gupta in (2-1) frames by (57-37, 37-50 and 54-35), while in another contest Shashank Khajuria prevailed upon Sakshar Bharadwaj in straight frames by (63-29, 74-57).
In another match of the day, outclassed Chetan Kumar in two straight frames (2-0) by (51-42, 61-44), while Vasudev Singh outplayed Pawan Singh by (56-46, 50-19) in straight frames.
Meanwhile, in yet another match, Yousaf trounced Kanav Gupta in (2-1) frames by (47-83, 60-39 and 80-44), while in last match of the day, Manav Langer toppled Harpreet Singh again in (2-1) frames by (71-49, 32-59 and 50-18).
The remaining matches of the first round would continue tomorrow.
