SAMBA, Mar 27: Shaheed Jagdish Singh Cricket tournament was organized by 38 Battalion of CRPF at General Baaz Singh Stadium Badhori, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest Rakesh Sethi, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Range Jammu. The chief guest also paid tribute to Martyr Jagdish Singh, followed by distribution of sports kits among participating teams of the tournament.
Dhirendra Verma, Commandant -38, Hazari Lal, Second Commanding Officer, Sanjay Mohanty, Deputy Commandant, Rajesh Pal Singh, Panch Rajeev Jasrotia, Panch Lal Mohammad were present during the inaugural ceremony of the tournament.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police said that CRPF has always been ahead for the service of the country as well as for the social service. The tournament is organized to provide a platform to local youth so that they can excel in the sports activities. A total of eight teams from the district are participating in the tournament.
