JAMMU, Sept 6: In the three day POWERGRID Inter-Regional Carrom Tournament 2025 being played at Amritsar, Corporate Centre (CC) clinched Womens’ Team championship by defeating Northern Region-III (NR-III) in the finals, here today.
Earlier Corporate Centre (CC) defeated Western Region-I (WR-I), Northern Region-III (NR-III) and also defeated Northern Region-II (NR-II) in the semifinals. Third place was achieved by NR-II by defeating WR-I.
In the Mens’ category Eastern Region-II(ER-II) clinched the Team championship by defeating Western Region-I (WR-I) in the finals. In the semifinals held earlier ER-II defeated SR-I whereas WR-I got better of NER.NER achieved third spot by defeating SR-I in the position match.
Similarly in the Doubles Event, Pooja and Shewata of Corporate Centre clinched Womens’ Doubles Title by defeating Priya and Anamika of Northern Region-III in the finals held today. Earlier, Pooja and Shewata defeated Rupali and Priyanka of Northern Region-II in first semifinal whereas Priya and Anamika defeated Swapna and Saswati of Eastern Region-II in the other semi-final. Third place was achieved by Rupali and Priyanka of Northern Region-II by defeating Swapna and Saswati of Eastern Region-II.
The tournament witnessed keen competition and display of skills. Men’s Singles and Doubles matches were ongoing at the time of filing this report.
