POONCH, Dec 6: Badshaw-XI trounced Purani Poonch-XI in final match and lifted the title trophy of Corona Warriors T-10 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, played at Sports Stadium, here today.
Batting first, Purani Poonch-XI scored 75 runs by losing 6 in stipulated 10 overs wherein Rahul and Hardeep scored 33 and 20 runs respectively. For bowling side, Shafiq, Shaban and Vicky took two wickets each.
In reply, the Badshaw-XI chased the target given by the opponent team in just 6.3 overs without losing any wicket. Muneer and Vicky contributed 45 and 20 runs respectively.
The match was officiated by Shoib, Usman and Farman Ullah.
DySP DAR Sachin Gupta was the chief guest of the closing ceremony while Pawan Kumar S&C JKCA and Pervaiz Malik Afridi, chairman EHSAAS Foundation Poonch were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest applauded effort of organisers of the tournament including Amandeep Sharma and Farman Ullah for providing platform to young cricketers of the hilly district. He also ensured all possible support for the upliftment of sports culture in the Poonch district.
