RAJOURI, May 26: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized one day conference in the memory of Late Dewan Ali Choudhary Dhanorvi, a renowned scholar and social worker.
Dr Alamdar Shah, special officer for cultural activity presented the welcome address.
The programme was presented in three phases. In the first phase of the programme, Qari Manzoor Ahamed and Dr Sabir Mirza read out the papers about the life history of late Choudhary Dewan Ali Dhanorvi.
In the second phase, a multilingual Mushaira was held in which Dr Mirza Khan Waqar, Rafiq Soz, Nisar Rahi, Lal Hussian Parwaz, Fazal Hussian Kouser Abdul Kareem Rehamati, Bashir Khakki and Gulzar Shah recited their latest poems, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
In the third phase, a music programme by Shadab Musical Club was held.
Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal, Vice Chancellor, Baba Gulam Shah Badshah Universty (BGSBU) was chief guest and the programme was presided over by Masood Ahamed Choudhary, Ex vice Chancellor of BGSBU.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Hamal lauded the efforts of the Academy for organizing such type of literary and Cultural activities.
Masood Ahmed Choudhary said that Academy is providing good opportunity to young generation to attend such type of programmes so that they may know about the life history of the persons like late Choudhary Devan Ali.
Gulzar Ahmed, Ex MLC, Anaam Hafiz Member of State Gujjar and Bakrwal Advisory Board also spoke on the occasion.
A photo exhibition on the life of Gujjar community was also organised by a renowned painter and photographer of the State OP Sharma.
Among others present on the occasion included Abdul Ghani Kohli, senior Congress leader, Aslam Khan, Ex MLA, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, BJP leader, Tass Adiq Hussain, Ex MLC and Advocate Qammer Leader.
At the end, Sanjeev Gupta, Cultural Officer presented vote of thanks.
